Poole Regatta Winners Celebrate with Wight Vodka
Poole, England
Fabulous weather and generous breezes (of course combined with the highly sought after bottles of Wight Vodka to the winners!) resulted in an awesome competitive spirit throughout the 2014 Poole Regatta.
The 180 boat fleet competed in 18 classes over the course of the holiday weekend, from J70s to J80s, XODs to Redwings, IRC1 to Quarter Tonners. At the end of the three days, the bar was open, the sun was shining and it was Ian Atkins’ J70 who came out winning the top prize and taking home the Wight Vodka bottles and custom regatta caps. Generous trophies were also presented to the podium finishers from the organising clubs in Poole, as this was the most competitive regatta we have seen in the years the event has taken place. The following skipper’s and their yachts take line honours:
IRC1 Jim Macgregor’s Premium Flair
IRC2 Stephen Tiernan’s Ruthless
IRC3 Richard Freemantle’s Chablis
MOCRA Phil Cotton’s Buzz
VPRS Iain Lamey’s Moondance II

Since its inception in 2000, the Poole Regatta has gone from strength-to-strength. Wight Vodka has supported the organizers over the years, and we’re happy that the Poole Yacht Club and the Parkstone Yacht Club pour Wight Vodka as their sole top-shelf brand. Keep it up!”
